Spanish Contemporary, Solana Beach, CA

The family of this house wanted a design that fit the Spanish architecture of the home with a modern and clean look that is both practical and beautiful. Saltillo pavers were laid in the entry courtyard to disguise the odd angles between the house and guest house. The backyard has a contemporary feel with a rectangular pool and spa, light wash finish concrete and an outdoor kitchen trimmed with ipe wood.

Gutschow Residence - A Schnetz Project

This garden was once a large lawn area. The clients wanted to renovate the lawn but weren't exactly sure what to do with the space. We explored various design options and decided upon a botanical garden with specimens from four different regions, Southwest USA, Mediterranean, Australia, and South Africa. It not only manifests garden inspirations and low water use, but it’s the perfect combination between design and practicality.
